Child Play Therapy Services

What is Play Therapy?
Child play therapy uses play to help children express emotions and experiences they struggle to verbalize, such as trauma, grief, anxiety, and social difficulties. Through imagination, art, and toys, it allows them to process complex feelings. Play therapy teaches coping skills, improves social abilities, and boosts confidence. It's commonly used with children aged 3-12 facing challenges like ADHD, family problems, or autism. Our practice provides a welcoming environment with tailored treatment plans. Experienced therapists guide children to express themselves and find healthier ways to navigate life's challenges. Complete our intake form to discuss if play therapy could benefit your child.

Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) – Victims of Crime

The Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS), formerly known as VOCAT, is a Victorian Government program that provides financial assistance to individuals who have been directly impacted by violent crime in Victoria. The scheme may fund psychological counselling and other recovery-related supports to assist victims in their recovery and stabilisation.

Eligible applicants may include primary victims of violent crime, certain secondary victims such as close family members of a deceased victim, and parents or guardians of affected children. The crime must be an act of violence, including but not limited to physical assault, sexual assault, domestic or family violence, armed robbery, kidnapping, stalking, or threats of violence.

The crime must have occurred in Victoria.

Where funding has been approved, psychological services must align with the authorised session limits outlined in the approval documentation.

Sessions can only commence once written confirmation of approved funding has been received from the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS), along with a formal letter confirming the approved number of counselling sessions.

Upon request, formal quotes for psychological services can be provided directly to an authorised case manager or legal representative for the purpose of funding applications. To maintain professional integrity and appropriate documentation standards, quotes are not issued directly to clients.

All communication regarding funding approvals, documentation, and treatment authorisation is conducted in writing to ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with professional obligations.
